Fantasy Football Week 9 Breakdown

Chaos. Comebacks. And fantasy point explosions everywhere you looked. Fantasy football Week 9 delivered the kind of drama that reminds you why Sundays are sacred in the NFL calendar. Even better than NFL Week 8, many would agree.

The Bears and Bengals gave fans an instant classic. After Cincinnati recovered an onside kick and marched downfield to take the lead with under a minute left, Caleb Williams answered with pure ice in his veins, a 58-yard bomb to Colston Loveland to win it 47-42. The Jaguars outlasted the Raiders in an overtime thriller, and the Panthers delivered the jaw-dropper of the week, stunning the Packers 16-13.

Now, let’s focus on the performances that won you your fantasy football leagues this NFL 2025 season.

Brock Bowers is BACK

Welcome back, Brock Bowers. The Raiders’ rookie tight end returned from injury with his best performance yet. He torched the Jaguars for 12 receptions, 127 yards, and three touchdowns, including a clutch overtime score. Even though Las Vegas failed to convert the game-winning two-point attempt, Bowers walked away as the top fantasy scorer of the week with 43.3 PPR points.

For managers who held onto him through injury, your patience paid off.

Drake London Dominates in New England

Drake London silenced any concerns about the Patriots’ secondary. The Falcons star posted a monstrous line: 9 receptions on 14 targets, 118 yards, and three touchdowns. Atlanta fell just short in a 24-23 loss, but London finished as the top-scoring wide receiver of Week 9 with 38.8 PPR points.

He didn’t just win fantasy matchups… He carried them.

Christian McCaffrey Comes Alive in New York

After a disappointing down week of just 9.8 PPR points, Christian McCaffrey reminded everyone why he’s the fantasy RB1. Against the Jets, he racked up 28 carries for 106 yards and a touchdown, plus 5 receptions for 67 yards and another score. That’s 34.3 PPR points and vintage CMC dominance.

If you needed a bounce-back performance to stay in playoff contention. He delivered.

Other Notable Performances

At the quarterback position, Bears quarterback Williams paced all quarterbacks, scoring 38.7 PPR fantasy points. His monster day helped the Bears grab a massive win over the Bengals. In that same game, Joe Flacco scored 30.7 PPR fantasy points, which was second-best at the quarterback position.

Tee Higgins was the only other player of the week to score over 30 PPR fantasy points through the Sunday afternoon games. His 121 yards and two touchdowns were not enough to lead the Bengals over the Bears.

Week 9 had it all: upsets, overtime chaos, and fantasy fireworks. And with playoffs around the corner, the intensity is only going to rise.
