Fantasy Football Predictions 2025
We are officially in fantasy football 2025 draft season. With kickoff around the corner, finding the No.1 player at every position will set you apart from your league mates.
Last season, Jahmyr Gibbs, Ja’Marr Chase, Lamar Jackson, and Brock Bowers led their respective positions. On the fantasy football platform ESPN, Gibbs was on 29% of championship teams, Chase 21.5%, Jackson 20.8%, and Bowers 19.1%, clear proof that a cornerstone player can make a huge difference in your fantasy football success.
Who will be the number one player at every position this year?
Josh Allen Emerges as the Number 1 Quarterback Once Again
Josh Allen fell short of the number one spot in 2024 after winning the title of QB1 in 2023 and 2021. Finishing as the QB2 in 2024 was majorly due to running back James Cook finding the endzone 16 times. Cook’s breakout campaign took valuable rushing touchdowns away from Allen.
On the bright side, Cook is a major touchdown regression candidate. As the starter in 2023, Cook only found the endzone twice on the ground. Expect Allen to replace some of those 16 touchdowns when Cook regresses.
In the offseason, the Bills added reliable wide receiver options in Joshua Palmer and Elijah Moore. Tight end Dalton Kincaid is another valuable option in the receiving game, although he played injured throughout 2024.
Draft Josh Allen with confidence, and enjoy the benefits all season long.
CeeDee Lamb Returns to the Top
Like Allen, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb finished at the top of his position in 2023. Due to a season-ending injury to Dak Prescott, Lamb fell to 8th at his position in 2024. With Prescott fully healthy heading into the season, Lamb is the frontrunner to return to WR1 overall territory.
The Cowboys have questions on the defensive side of the ball, which will force them to keep up with opposing teams. High-scoring games are great for fantasy football, and I expect Lamb to take full advantage.
The Cowboys’ run game will feature Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders, and rookie Jaydon Blue. With the clear lack of star power, expect the Cowboys to rely extra on the passing game.
Speaking of the passing game, the Cowboys traded for George Pickens this offseason. Pickens is a big play threat, and he should open up the middle of the field for Lamb and increase his yards after the catch.
Bijan Robinson Rises
Bijan Robinson finished as the RB3 in the 2024 season. His improvement was evident from his rookie season, where he finished as the RB9 overall.
The Falcons have found their quarterback in Michael Penix Jr. Robinson dominated with Penix under center, scoring 24 points or more in each game he started. His average over that three-game span would have placed Robinson 5 points per game ahead of last season’s RB1, Jahmyr Gibbs.
The Falcons bolstered their defense in the offseason, using two first-round picks on that side of the ball. An improved defense should allow the Falcons to focus more on the run game.
George Kittle Puts the 49ers’ Passing Game on His Shoulders
Kittle finished as the TE3 in 2024, but he tied for first in fantasy points per game with Cardinals tight end Trey McBride. He returns to the 49ers team that projects to win 11 games.
The 49ers had it rough in 2024 but are ready for a bounce-back season. Christian McCaffrey is returning to give the team a presence on the ground. In the passing game, Kittle is the clear number one target with Deebo Samuel being traded to the Washington Commanders this offseason.
San Francisco is facing injuries galore in the wide receiver room. Brandon Aiyuk will miss at least the first four to six weeks of the season, Jauan Jennings is battling a calf injury, and Ricky Pearsall has faced injury throughout camp. As a result, I expect Kittle to dominate all parts of the field in the passing game.
