Fantasy Football Bold Predictions 2025
The NFL season is quickly approaching, and being bold is one way to set yourself apart from your fantasy football league mates. Imagine someone told you that Brian Thomas Jr. would have been a top-five wide receiver before last season? Or that Christian McCaffrey would finish outside the top 60 running backs? You would have called them crazy.
Football is an unpredictable sport, which is why we all love it so much. I already showed you my top 5 running backs and top 5 wide receivers. These 3 fantasy football predictions may seem unlikely, but I am here to tell you they are 100% possible using cold, hard facts!
Saquon Barkley Finishes Outside the Top 10 Running Backs
Saquon Barkley carried the load for the Eagles in 2024, leading them to a Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs. His 436 carries out of the backfield are a legit cause for concern going into the NFL season. Since 1990, there have been 24 running backs to surpass 400 carries in a season. Only three out of those 24 running backs outperformed the previous season’s PPR points per game. That means there is less than a 13% chance that Barkley will repeat his historic 2024 season.
To add insult to injury, 75% of running backs with 400+ carries since 1990 missed significant playing time the following season. At 28 years old, Barkley has a higher risk of injury than a younger back. Not to mention, Barkley has struggled with knee and ankle injuries throughout his career.
Christian McCaffrey Finishes as the Number One Running Back
Christian McCaffrey let down fantasy football managers worldwide during the 2024 season as he struggled with multiple injuries. Fantasy managers are struggling to draft McCaffrey after his RB69 finish last season. McCaffrey’s disappointing season has caused him to drop in drafts, as he is in the second round of consensus drafts.
The talent of McCaffrey is unquestioned. In 2023, he finished with 67 receptions, 564 receiving yards, and seven receiving touchdowns. Not to mention his 1,459 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground. The passing game is my primary focus as we near the season. The 49ers’expansive receiver room is depleted, with Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings battling injuries. I wouldn’t be surprised if McCaffrey has 100+ targets this year!
Dak Prescott Finishes as a Top 3 Quarterback
Dak Prescott is currently going in the 11th round of fantasy football drafts as the 12th quarterback overall. His cheap price makes him one of the best values in fantasy football. Prescott has finished as a top 10 quarterback in every fully healthy season, highlighted by a QB3 finish in 2023 and a QB2 finish in 2019.
Coming into the NFL 2025 season, Prescott has the best weapons since the 2019 QB2 finish. The Cowboys added star wide receiver George Pickens during the offseason. The Cowboys finally have a WR2 next to Ceedee Lamb. Not to mention, the Cowboys traded star edge rusher Micah Parsons. Without Parsons, the Cowboys’ offense will need to score many points to stay in games!
What Are Your Fantasy Football Bold Predictions?

Fantasy Football Bold Predictions: FAQs
Q: Are bold predictions worth trusting on draft day?
Absolutely. Bold calls expose hidden value and warn you where the landmines are. They’re how you stay one step ahead of your league.
Q: Is Saquon Barkley a safe pick in 2025?
Not really. History says RBs with 400+ carries fall off hard. At 28, Barkley’s risk is sky-high. Draft him if you dare, but don’t overpay.
Q: Can Christian McCaffrey bounce back this season?
Yes, if he stays on the field. With SF’s WR injuries, CMC could see 100+ targets. Draft discount + RB1 upside? That’s the prime value.
Q: Is Dak Prescott the sleeper QB of 2025?
You bet. Dak’s going late, but he’s got the weapons to finish top 3. That’s league-winning upside for an 11th-round price.
Q: How do you draft bold without sinking your team?
Balance risk with safety. Pair upside swings with reliable vets. That way, you hit big without tanking if one call goes bust.
